Gannon glanced at the clock on the wall in his office. Today was the day Delphine would give him her decision. He’d tried to keep busy, but every so often his mind would replay every single detail of last night in the Black Mountains...especially their kiss.

He refused to do so. But then, it hadn’t helped matters when Tyson had called this morning. According to Dr. Tyson Steele, who barely missed seeing a thing, he couldn’t help but notice the way Gannon kept staring at Delphine last night. Tyson said it was a way he’d never seen Gannon stare at another woman. His brother felt it was obvious that Gannon was taken with her, and like Jonas, Tyson felt Gannon should find out why.

Evidently, Tyson had shared that opinion with Galen and Eli because Gannon had gotten calls from them, as well. That was just great, Gannon thought, annoyed that they felt the need to call to give him advice, as if he couldn’t handle his business.

His cell phone rang, and his heart began pounding when he picked it up and saw the caller was Delphine. Swallowing deeply, he clicked on and said, “Good morning, Delphine.”

“Good morning, Gannon. I’m calling to let you know I’ve made my decision.”

He breathed in deeply, knowing her decision could either make or break him. He hadn’t realized just how much he wanted her to travel on the road with him until after he’d asked her. “And what have you decided?”

There was a pause. Or was it a hesitation?

He swallowed deeply again and waited.

To him it seemed an eternity before she said, “I’ve decided to take you up on your offer and go on the road trip with you.”

At that moment, Gannon couldn’t stop the smile that spread across his lips.
